Originally from St. Petersburg, Florida, Jeremy Hearn has more than 20 years of professional worship leading, and mentoring experience. Hearn is regularly sought to provide worship music or worship related support for conferences and events, as well as consulting, coaching, and hiring support to local churches in need.

Through the mid 2000s, Jeremy worked in both the Country and Christian music industries in Nashville, Tennessee before turning his focus back to the needs of the local church. Hearn has experience working with, and learning under, names like Martina and John McBride, Michael W. Smith, Jeremy Camp, Matt Maher, and Paul Baloche.

Jeremy also brings with him invaluable experience related to church planting. In 2009, Hearn helped launch Wells Branch Community Church, a church plant in Austin, Texas, where he served as a founding member and founding worship leader.

In 2013, Hearn began being approached by pastors and worship leaders about a significant need that continued to surface for a worship ministry support hub, that worship and church leaders could regularly turn to for staffing, coaching and consulting support. This need also included a place that local churches could turn to, to send their current or newly hired worship leaders for further development and regular continuing education throughout the course of their worship ministry careers.

After nearly seven years of focused conversation and data collection; in 2019 Hearn and a small group of trusted colleagues formed what is now known as The Institute for Modern Worship.

Today, Jeremy currently resides in Lakeland, FL, where he serves as Contemporary Worship Director of First United Methodist Church of Lakeland, Florida, overseeing weekly worship for the churches two unique contemporary worship experiences.

Jeremy’s greatest joys in life are spending time near or on the water with his family, and sharing meals and conversations with family, colleagues, and friends around an open and inclusive table.
